Afena Gyan gets 1st goal and assist for Ghana Black Stars in win against Madagascar

Afena Gyan has opened his Ghana Black Stars goal account in the team’s win against Madagascar.

Felix Afena Gyan scored his 1st goal as a Ghana Black Stars in Ghana’s win against Madagascar in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.

Ghana recorded a 3-0 win over their Group E opponent at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The 1st half produced no goal but Ghana returned for the 2nd half hungry for goals.

The attacking intent of the team was rewarded when Afena Gyan provided an assist for Kudus Mohammed to give the team the deserved lead in the 53rd minute.

3 minutes later Afena Gyan made it 2-0 by connecting a cross from Gideon Mensah, his first for the Senior national football team of Ghana.

Substitute Osman Bukari rounded the Madagascar keeper to make the scoreline 3-0 in the 86th minute, his first goal for Ghana Black Stars.

The win means Ghana starts the qualifiers top of Group E with 3 points, 3 goals ahead of 2nd placed Angola who defeated Central African Republic 2-1 earlier today.

The team fly to Central Africa Republic to play them on Saturday, June 5, 2022.
